DUQUENNE (Pascal). "Character". Monotype on paper, signed in the lower left corner, mounted under a mat and black wooden frame. Dim. frame : 43,5 x 43,5 cm ; subject : 10 x 10 cm. Pascal Duquenne (°1970) is a Belgian actor, known for playing the role of Georges in Jaco Van Dormael's The Eighth Day. He participates in the engraving workshop of the Créahm in Brussels. He uses the monotype and creates portraits in black and white. His works show simple formal means: sober background, features of the face and body evoked in a few strokes or black spots, no modelling. This purification of forms gives a power of expression to these portraits which invade the space of the work.
