Benenitra meteorite of chondrite type. The fall occurred at the time of the much awaited total lunar eclipse which was also visible in France. But it is in Madagascar, near a very small village that a real meteorite shower of various sizes occurred during the eclipse, making some inhabitants of this village, who witnessed this fall, think that they were fragments of the moon detached on this occasion. An impact on the fusion crust at the time of the fall reveals the cream-coloured interior which contrasts with the black exterior burnt during the passage of our atmosphere
