BARTHÉLEMY (Auguste) and Joseph MÉRY. Napoleon in Egypt. Waterloo and the son of man. Paris, Ernest Bourdin, s.d. [1842]. Large in-8, red half-maroquin with corners, spine decorated, untrimmed, cover and spine (Canape). Illustrated by Horace Vernet and Hippolyte Bellangé, with numerous vignettes, including one on the title, and 17 engravings out of text printed on chine glue. First edition. The cover is the one used for the cartonnages d'étrennes or the publisher's bindings executed by Boutigny (cf. Carteret, p. 65). A good copy, in spite of rare freckles.
