BALZAC (Honoré de). The Connestable. Tale illustrated, engraved and illuminated by Albert Robida. Paris, Printed for Charles Meunier, 1914. In-4, marbled vellum, painted listel and gilt fleuron at the corners, smooth spine with calligraphic title in full, gilt head, untrimmed, cover (Levitzky). Edition illustrated with 22 etchings by Albert Robida. Edition at 100 copies, this one containing a DOUBLE CHINESE COPY of the illustrations, including a state with remarks. VELIN PAINTED BINDING BY GREGOIRE LEVITZKY, a bookbinder of Ukrainian origin who was Prouté's former worker.
