Rare gothic chair clock
presumably around 1470, iron frame with round, finely open-worked architectural crowning, this with sawn-out gothic tracery, movement with spindle escapement and wheel balance, cord winding, single branch movement with hour strike (bell missing), walking and striking movement arranged one behind the other, functional, colouring renewed, enclosed a reproduced chair made of solid oak, h 29 cm.
Info: This clock, is the oldest wheel clock from the Landrock collection, he bought it shortly after the Second World War from a lady, whose grandfather worked as a personal physician at the Wittelsbach royal house; see Clocks of the Landrock Collection, Callway Verlag 1986, p. 65 and 89.
