A PERSIAN GABBEH CARPET, hand woven in the Fars Province in South-Central Iran, near the ancient historical city of Shiraz which is known for its literary history, gardens and rug weaving. In this city is a garden honouring the revered poet Hafez, in which his marble Tomb sits. Gabbeh rugs hand woven in Shiraz are densely woven with a thick vegetable dyed pile and have a knot density of around 250,000 knots per sq. metre, the designs are nomadic and simple, 135cm x 80cm
