Alchemy - DULCO (Gaston). Philosophical treatise on the triple preparation of gold and silver. Followed by:] On the right and true way to produce the Philosopher's Stone, or the Silver & Gold Salt. Paris, Laurent d'Houry, 1595 [1695].
In-12 of 119 pp. Contemporary ivory vellum.
Original French edition translated from Latin by Guill. Salmon. "Joined to Salmon's Dictionnaire hermétique on the title of which it is stated." Caillet. "Work almost impossible to find. Following the dictionary is the 'Traité philosophique de la triple préparation de l'or et de l'argent par G. Le Douc, dit de Claves'. Followed by 'the right and true way to produce the philosophical stone'. These two treatises having a special title and separate pagination are often missing." S. de Guaita. "The Dictionary alone is by Salmon. The two treatises which accompany it have a separate pagination (120 pp. including one blank sheet) and a special title, with the erroneous date of 1595: Traité philosophique de la triple préparation de l'or et de l'argent, Par Gaston Le Doux dit de Claves. The second treatise, which this title does not mention, occupies the last 70 pages and is entitled: De la droite et vraie manière de produire la Pierre Philosophique, ou le Sel argentifique & aurifique. Barbier calls Salmon's 'Dictionary' untraceable." Dorbon.
Very rare. (Caillet 3349 and 9857; S. de Guaita 919; Dorbon 4378.)
