AGRIPPA (Henri-Corneille). Les Œuvres magiques, mises en français par Pierre d'ABAN, avec des secrets occultes, notamment celui de la Reine des Mouches velues. Rome, sn, 1744 [c. 1830]. In-18 half green morocco, smooth threaded spine, gilt title (period binding). Portrait of Pierre d'Aban in frontispiece, 5 plates out of text, engraved figures in text. Scattered foxing. Apocryphal: Peter of Aban predates Agrippa by more than a century and a half. "Very rare and sought-after edition, decorated with the translator's portrait, 5 plates out of text and figures in the text. - Occult secrets, especially that of the Queen of the Hairy Flies." Caillet (97). The Queen of the Hairy Flies is said to help whoever succeeds in getting hold of her to find treasures, gold or precious objects underground.
