Lower Normandy (peoples of), Baïocasses or Unelli. Electrum statere, of "figurative" type with a boar 2nd century BC BC Profile on the right with thick locks, mouth and nose formed by globules, with a necklace and a beaded cord in front of the face. Rv. Androcephalic horse right, surmounted by a charioteer holding an object connected to the vexillum hanging in front of the horse's chest. Underneath, a boar carrying a sign to the right. DT.2260 v.; Electrum - 7,18 g - 20,5 mm - 8 h From the collection of P. J. Prankerd, Sotheby's, 1909 n° 316 then Auctiones AG 8, Basel, 27 June 1978 n° 2. Lightly cleaned. Very rare and of superb quality for this type, not listed in this metal. TTB to Superb. This statere in figurative style, very stylized, and with the boar, is in electrum (rather than gold silver) which is not listed. Usually given, by ease, to the Baïocasses, it must rather be given to the people of Lower Normandy, more or less the department of Calvados, such as the Unelli, people who are quoted by Caesar
