A mahogany, mahogany veneer and partially gilded wood half-moon-shaped sideboard, the waistband has a drawer, it opens to two doors in front, the uprights surmounted by ormolu busts of women and ended by small feet. Rich decoration of chased and gilded bronzes such as: frieze of palmettes alternated with lotus leaves, winged victorious musicians in appliques. It rests on lion claws. Belgian grey marble top. Attributed to the cabinetmaker Jean-Joseph Chapuis First third of the 19th century (cracks) H: 94 - W: 133 - D: 59 cm Provenance: Collection Jean LEFEVRE (1908- 1965), architect. The cabinetmaker Jean-Joseph Chapuis (1765 - 1864), obtained his master's degree in Paris before moving to Brussels, his native city. He supplied furniture for the palace of Laeken.
