MOROCCO - LEPREUX Albert - [View of RABAT]. Very nice original gouache by Albert LEPREUX (France 1888 - 1959) on applied paper. Situated and signed by the artist in the lower right corner of the composition. Trained in the free workshops of Montmartre, Albert Lepreux, post-impressionist artist, exhibited from 1909 at the Salon des Indépendants alongside Monet, Sisley and Pissarro. In 1920, the painter travelled to southern Algeria and brought back landscapes that he presented at the Colonial Exhibition in Marseille in 1922. In the 30's, it is Morocco which inspires him numerous works, landscapes, street scenes and daily life, some of which will be presented at the Colonial Exhibition of Naples in 1934.36 x 46 cm. Condition A (some light foxing in the margins, spine stained).
