In-12, [6] f., 134 p. i.e. 131], [1] f., pp. 3-11, front, pl., contemporary brown calf, spine with 5 nerves, gilt title, ornamented caissons, gilt border, spotted edges (slight rubbing, tear at edge of head-cap, 2 corners blunted, small light rings in margins, slight soiling). Second edition, the last and most complete, with an explanation of the terms of military architecture, in the form of a poem in alexandrines. The illustration consists of a frontispiece offering a scene of the construction of a fort, and 14 double plates, all engraved on copper by C. Mongeot; the dedicatory epistle to Monsieur de Saint-Pomenges is preceded by a vignette with his name, the letters of which are composed of weapons and other military objects. Old handwritten bookplate on the title: "Mondhare (?)".
