Collection of letters by J. Camerarius (1500-1574), a German humanist philologist, close to Melanchthon, and one of the co-editors of the Augsburg Confession. A first series of letters had appeared in 1583, which explains the mention of "secundo volumine". Edition prepared by the author's sons, Joachim Camerarius (1534-1598), physician and botanist, and Philipp Camerarius (1537-1624), jurisconsult.
Neat old annotations in margin of dedicatory epistle, and handwritten mention of 3 letter recipients, including Adrien Turnèbe, on lower flyleaf; handwritten bookplate "Van de Velde, Dresden, 1864" on upper flyleaf.
