BUST OF A GODDESS Egypt, Ptolemaic period, 332-30 BC Limestone. Traces of gilding on the face. H_ 5,8 cm Provenance Former French private collection Paris, private collection acquired in public sale in 2003, PIASA under lot n°253. The bust presents a female figure with a bare bust, the partially missing breast The partially missing chest shows a finely carved round breast. She is wearing a necklace. The round face is characterized by stretched almond-shaped eyes and a small fleshy mouth. She is wearing a long tripartite wig leaving her ears open. Nice quality. A PTOLEMAIC LIMESTONE FRAGMENTARY BUST OF A GODDESS,332-30 B.C. 23/9 in. High. The figure presents a finely sculpted bust although partially missing. The rounded face is characterized by almond shaped eyes and small lips. She wears a long tripartite wig, with uncovered ears. Traces of gilding on the face.
