Two ottoman sherbet spoons. Shell, horn and bone. Turkey, 19th century, Ottoman Empire L_22,4 cm and 21 cm, chips on the edge of the spoon. This type of spoon, with a large spoon, was mainly used to taste sherbet, an iced granita covered with syrup, very common at the Ottoman Court, and which gave its name to the French sorbet
