Following the success of this concept car, Nissan decided to market the Figaro. A production of 8,000 units is planned for 1991, but the demand persists, Nissan extends the production of 12,000 additional units. The production of the model is brought to 20 000 units, but the demand is such that Nissan organizes lottery which gives the right to the winners to buy the car! Only intended for Japan, the Figaro is right-hand drive. Built on the Micra's platform, it uses the same four-cylinder engine with a displacement of one litre, but with a turbocharger that allows it to develop 76 hp. It is coupled with a 3-speed automatic transmission as standard. The Figaro is only 3.74 m long and 1.63 m wide. In order to be in keeping with the neo-retro style of the time, it was given pastel colours inspired by the 1950s, white meters and nicely designed controls. The Figaro is also equipped with a huge sunroof that goes all the way down to the rear trunk and is richly equipped with air conditioning, electric windows, radio-CD, leather seats... This very rare Nissan Figaro, never imported in Europe, belonged to an enthusiast of the brand who used it daily. Its pink and cream livery and its matching interior give it an undeniable charm, a pleasant appearance and an undeniable sympathy capital. Its engine works normally. An unusual and original convertible, unknown in our latitudes, with a cartoon look that never ceases to seduce enthusiasts who discover it.
