2-door, 4-seat coupe body style Front engine, 6 cylinders in V Displacement 2,492 cm3 Power 160 hp Maximum speed 205 km/h Mileage 62,969 km Serial number ZAR116C0000017784 The Alfa Romeo coupe, successor of the popular "Bertone coupe", appeared in May 1974. Its original, elegant wedge-shaped bodywork, which emphasizes space and functionality with its rear hatch, was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was now working on his own for his Italdesign design office, which was founded in 1968. It was based on the platform of the Alfetta saloon, which had been unveiled two years earlier, and was fitted with a 1,779 cm³ double overhead cam 4-cylinder light alloy engine developing 122 bhp at 5,500 rpm, which enabled it to reach a speed of 195 km/h, combined with a 5-speed transaxle. In May 1976, it received two new engines, 1,570 cm³/109 hp and 1,962 cm³/122 hp. The new bodywork was also given a new grille design, the fuel filler cap without a flap and the name Alfa Romeo in capital letters on the rear. The two versions 1.6 GT and 2.0 GTV were distinguished by the rubber buffers on the bumpers, two chrome strips on the grille and the GTV inscription on the rear air vents of the 2.0 GTV. In 1978, the 2.0 GTV gained 10 more hp to reach 132 hp. In November 1980 the GTV received the new 6-cylinder engine with Bosch L-Jetronic electronic injection and became the GTV 6 with ventilated disc brakes. This beautiful coupe finally found the engine it was missing. Externally, it can be distinguished from the GTV 2.0 by its bulging bonnet, the V6 being more bulky than the 4-cylinder. In 1983, the GTV 6 was redesigned with grey plastic elements on the rocker panels, the "Alfa Romeo" trunk monogram disappeared, while headlight washers made their appearance. Inside, new bucket seats with "mesh" headrests, thicker door trim and a leather-rimmed steering wheel were introduced. Power windows are standard. This superb GTV 6 2.5 left the factory on August 20th 1987 and was registered in Belgium in 1992. Very sound, it has been restored by a collector, passionate about the brand. It is equipped with a manual gearbox and its typical Campagnollo Campanatura magnesium wheels. The original interior shows some normal traces of use. It is sold with its original service booklet. Beautiful and healthy GTVs are rare and this one with 62,969 km on the odometer deserves special attention.
