NOTES:
Like Zao Wou Ki, Chu Teh-Chun received his initial training in China before moving to France after the Second World War. A master of lyrical abstraction, his work combines the influence of traditional Chinese painting with poetic research into the abstract. In this lithograph, he highlights his cultural heritage between Taoist tradition and the symbolism of flowers in Chinese art. Through this composition which shows his early learning of calligraphy, he revisits the theme of nature by giving it a more contemporary way.
