Two prefaces: one to the docile reader, the other to the "cryptic" reader. less well known than his "Le Faut mourir." "The unvarnished Amy" consoles all the afflicted in verse: The maiden on the loss of her beauty by the "small verolle," the oppressed of the soldiers, the husband and wife in ill-intelligence, the ill-married, the gouty, &c. Bound in blond speckled calf, triple gilt framing on the boards spine with title on red morocco piece, gilt edges, gilt fillet on the edges, coloured combed endpapers. 3 bookplates: R chardey in Le Havre, And 2 of Couturier de Royas, a large one covered by a small one - The large bookplate would be that of the father, who was also called Paul.
