Japan, Kyoto, circa 1890 Large bronze perfume burner with a brown patina and gold highlights. The lid represents a warrior in armor carrying a pagoda with one arm and resting his left foot on a guard dog. The vase has two handles forming two symmetrical dragons framing the body, decorated in semi-relief with a warrior scene on each side. The whole is carried by the coiled body of a large dragon looking upwards. The base is decorated with four friezes ( accident to the right arm and the small pagoda, with restoration. The pieces must be refixed. see photos). Height : 150 cm
