MOLIÈRE. The Feast of Peter, a comedy by J. B. P. de Molière. New edition & quite different from the one which has appeared until now. Brussels, George de Backer, 1694; in-12 of 72 p., late 19th century binding in red morocco, gilt fillets on the boards, spine decorated with gilt motifs, inner lace and gilt edges (Joly r[elieur] d[oreur]). Third edition of Don Juan, excluding the 1682 collective. It still bears the original title which was abandoned in the It still bears the original title, which was abandoned in the following century, and includes, on pages 41-43, the scene of the "Poor Man" which had been deleted. "It was not until 1694 that the real Don Juan reappeared at George de Backer's in Brussels" (Guibert, I, p. 414). Frontispiece in etching by J. Karrewijn, much more elaborate and beautiful than the one by Brissart of the first editions. BEAUTIFUL AND FRESH BINDING BY ANTOINE JOLY with the very thin spine gilt to perfection.
