ÉRASME. L'Éloge de La Folie composed in declamation. Amsterdam, François L'Honoré, 1728; in-12, contemporary binding in brown speckled calf, spine ornamented, fawn-coloured parts. Frontispiece, one hors texte figure with portraits of Erasmus, Th. Morus and Holbein, 75 half-page figures and 6 double-page plates. The mid-page figures are based on pen-and-ink drawings by Holbein on a copy of the Praise of Folly. They represent human occupations and passions: gambling, the table, duelling, love Cohen only mentions the 1731 reprint with the same figures. 18th century heraldic ex-libris of the Lambert d'Herbigny family.
