Unveiled in 1951, the 6-cylinder Mercedes-Benz 200 revived the pre-war tradition of luxury machines and, along with the 300 model, laid the foundations for the "S-Class" generation that is still in production today and tops the marque's catalogue. Driven by a new, modern and powerful 6-cylinder engine, it was nevertheless dressed in bodywork largely inspired by the pre-war era. Protruding front wings with integrated headlights, the only concession to modernity, frame an imposing grille. The profile of the car, with its antagonistic doors, is underlined by a step and ends with a bouncing rear trunk. 16,000 units were produced and the car presented for sale was bought in France in 2006 and imported into Belgium the same year. It is equipped with a 6-cylinder engine of the M 180 model, which is not the original one but of the same type and which, according to the owner's notes, has only 10,000 kilometers on the date of purchase. The bodywork is painted in black and has received as period accessories an additional pair of Marchal headlights and a spare wheel carrier on the rear trunk This Mercedes was driven regularly, as shown by its insurance certificate, which was valid until last spring - Chassis number 1870 1026 93 52 - First registration 1952 - Engine M 180, 6 cylinders, petrol - 2198 cm3 - With valid Belgian registration - Documentation, owner's notes and workshop manual - 31.700 kilometers on the odometer, not verifiable - Sold due to inheritance.
