The Pagoda was brilliantly designed by Paul Bracq (Bordeaux 1933), a graduate of the Ecole Boulle and hired by Mercedes in 1957. The Pagoda was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 and deliberately broke with the design of the previous generations (190 SL and 300 SL), which it replaced, imposing its taut, clean lines, whether it was presented with the hood off or with its hardtop, which gave it its name. Marketed at a very high price, endowed with an excellent quality of manufacture, the 230 SL will be produced to 19.831 specimens (March 1963 - November 1966) and is regarded today as a very sought-after classic for its elegance, its sportiness and its prestige.Acquired about ten years ago, this specimen had received from its previous owner constant care as attested by the many invoices emanating from the garage Mercedes - Barvaux in Liege. Regularly used by its owner, this Mercedes Pagoda, still insured last year, is only looking for a new owner to take it on the road again.1 - Mercedes 230 SL "Pagoda" Type W113 - Chassis 113 042 1001 7779 - Convertible with soft top and hardtop.
