Bushoong, Kuba Kingdom, Kasai Occidental, Democratic Republic of Congo. Wood, raffia, beads, cowries, shells, bells, skins, horsehair. Realistic figure of a king wearing his ceremonial costume, representing the "Ngesh" spirit, wearing the "Moshambooy" mask, an essential mask that occupies the first rank in the hierarchy of Kuba masks, reserved for the king and chiefs. This almost complete costume is a montage of various elements reminding us of the prestige of the royal court and the quality of king. Height: 135cm. Provenance: Private collection in Paris C.B, collected in-situ. Details on the object according to the collector's card recalling its history. (this card of object could be given to the purchaser).
