Jacques Callot (1592-1635) - La Noblesse, Marguerite, his sister / Description: Standing young woman, elegantly dressed, with left hand holding muff, and right hand on hip, holding a rosary; landscape with houses in the background.. La Noblesse is a series of twelve etchings showing the costumes of lords and ladies of Lorraine from the time of callot. Bouchot wrote that callot and his friends parade. M. Bruaert wrote 'of the family of Callot' and Lieure confirms it is almost certain that this plate here shows his sister Marguerite . / Dimensions: 14,20 x 9,10 cm Very good early impression on finae laid paper with full plate border and tread margins.
