First edition of one of the most important French scientific expeditions of the 19th century.
Set comprising 3 volumes for the relation of the voyage (volumes I, II and III), by A. de La Salle, decorated with 4 plates (volume I) and a folding table (volume II), and 2 atlases :
- botanical atlas: 6 plates numbered 1 to 3 and I to III, and plates 91 to 150.
- historical album: complete with 100 plates of views and picturesque scenes (views of Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Valparaiso, Lima, Manila, Canton, Singapore, Pondicherry, etc.).
Marginal staining to some plates of the historical album, and more or less important angular staining on the botanical plates. Some foxing. Binding of the botanical atlas worn, splitting of the spines of the historical album. Bindings rubbed, spines darkened.
