One foot cap damaged; jaws cracked and even split at the head and foot; light stains on the boards, but EXEMPLAIRE ORNATED WITH THE ARMS of Jacques Auguste de THOU (1553-1617) and the COMPOSED CHIFFRE of the bibliophile and his wife, Gasparde de La Chastre, applied by his son.
