Limited edition of 200 copies on vellum of Rives, all signed by Georges Braque and Marcel Jouhandeau : one of 150 copies justified to the name of the members of the Nouveau cercle parisien du livre, this one for Emile Sabatier, numbered 73. Braque did me the honour of decorating one of my books (.) To have deserved the esteem and affection of this sublime man is to have received the true sacrament of confirmation, a kind of irreplaceable consecration", wrote Marcel Jouhandeau a few days after Braque's death: he is referring to this Descente aux enfers, in which he narrates his return to the places of his youth, in Guéret, known as "Chaminadour", and for which Braque made the four beautiful lithographs.
