AN IMPORTANT SIGNED ICON SHOWING CHRIST AND TEN SELECTED SAINTS Cretan, Victor, 1651-1697 Tempera on wood panel. Executed in bright colours on a gold ground. Signed lower right in Greek. The coat-of-arms in the lower left corner suggests that it was commissioned by a noble family. On the reverse traces of a label 'EXPOSITION RÉTROSPECTIVE La Peinture Religieu[...].'. SIGNED ICON WITH TEN SELECTED Saints and Christ Crete, signed Victor, 1651-1697 Composite of two boards with two back sponki nailed on. Egg tempera on chalk ground, gold ground. 55 x 43 cm. Signed in Greek lower right. The coat of arms in the lower left corner suggests that this icon was commissioned by an important noble family.
