50-England, London: A tureen and its silver display. The lid is embossed with waves raised by a string of gadroons and topped with a fretel representing a leafy grenade. The body stands on four asymmetrical rocaille feet and is flanked by two handles composed of rocaille foliage. The oval display with radiating waves has a border underlined by a gadrooned cord punctuated with asymmetrical rocaille ornaments. Hallmarks on the lid: Leopard's head, passing lion, letter date A for London 1756-1757 (Sterling Silver) and hallmark of master goldsmith EDWARD WAKELIN (known from 1747 to 1761). Punch under the body: punch of the master goldsmith EDWARD WAKELIN. And unidentified inventory number: N°2 80 19 D (?) Punches on the display: Leopard's head, passing lion, letter H for London 1763-64 (Sterling Silver) and hallmark of the association of master goldsmiths JOHN PARKER & EDWARD WAKELIN.
