SILHON [(jean de)]. Of the immortality of the soul. Paris, Christophle Iourme, 1662, in-32°, [66, of which frontispiece title]-700 p., full vellum of the time with small flaps. From the Nordkirschen library (ex-libris). Perfectly exemplary. A French philosopher, writer and politician, Silhon was Richelieu's secretary before becoming a State Councillor. He took part in the drafting of the statutes of the Académie française in 1634, before its inauguration, and became one of its first members.
