RELIGIEUSE
Louis XIV, Paris circa 1720. The dial and movement signed Rabby à Paris (François Rabby, master from 1717).
Rectangular wooden case, glazed on three sides, covered with red tortoise shell. The upper end indented, the corners set with flamed vases, angel with horn as a top figure. The lower part of the case with rounded corners on round feet. Rich bronze fittings in the form of carinets with royal busts, cock heads, draperies, acanthus leaf, etc. Door bronze in the form of a reclining woman with eagle, probably Zeus and Aegina. Bronze dial in relief with blue enamel cartouches. Movement with verge escapement and half-hour strike on bell. 1 key.

Spring movement to be revised. Some missing parts. Partially replaced tortoiseshell.
