CUPBOARD WITH SILVER AND GOLD THREAD EMBROIDERY
Renaissance, Italy, probably Florence, 16th/17th century.
Wood carved with pearl and scale frieze and gilded. Rectangular body with slightly protruding hinged lid on a straight, slightly profiled frame and paw feet. The four corners carved with acanthus leaves. Three sides and lid covered with silver and gold thread embroidery in the form of leaves, vines and flowers on a green velvet background. Back pasted with printed floral patterned paper (probably later). Inside divided with several compartments and later painted green. 1 key.
