Rare and old OTTOMAN, in silk (chains, wefts and velvet), (Asia Minor), first part of the 19th century. Dimensions: 160 x 120cm.
Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 480,000 knots in one square metre. In the shape of a warhead on an old gold abrasive background, there is a mihrab, with a hanging bouquet of flowers, supported by two flowered columns. The two spandrels, Nattier blue background, are enriched by magnificent ivory flowered scrolls. Two reserves enrich the background of this carpet. Main border cream background with flowers, leaves and interlacing, stylized, surrounded by four counter borders with flowers and garlands. The carpet is in relief, due to natural oxidation, proving its antiquity. (Wear and tear and accident).
