KACHAN in silk (Persia), late 19th century. Dimensions: 208 x 135cm
Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 630,000 knots in one square metre. A tree of life, framed by two flowered vases, stands out on the ivory background of this carpet, whose mihrab vault is formed by a vegetal tangle. Two coral counter-borders with garlands of flowers frame the main one, turquoise, with floral succession.
