KACHAN from the workshop of the silk weaver "MORTACHEM" (Persia), end of the 19th century. Dimensions : 200 x 120cm. Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 900,000 knots in one square meter. An ivory mihrab hosts a delicate multicoloured floral interlacing, consisting mainly of three trees of life and a multitude of polychrome flowering stems. Ivory vaults with vegetalized arabesques. The main Old Rose border is decorated with wavy floral garlands and open corollas. Four counter-borders with flowers and chess pieces complete the ensemble. Poetic.
