Fine silk HEREKE signed (Turkey), circa 1975. Dimensions : 135 x 86cm. Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 1,200,000 knots in one square metre. A delicate tangle of polychrome floral scrolls spreads out over a navy blue field. The central plant forms form an indistinguishable oblong medallion and its pendants. Two ivory counterborders with a succession of flowers frame the main ruby border with a garland of ivory flowers, set on bluish foliage. Signature in a small cartouche in the upper right corner.
