Very beautiful silk HERIZ (Persia), circa 1870/80. Dimensions : 201 x 138cm. Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 640,000 knots in one square meter. An ivory field with delicate polychrome floral scrolls hosts an oblong brick background, itself the support of a cream polylobate medallion. Various foliage and plant branches enrich the decoration. Six floral garlanded counter-borders frame the main one with multicoloured flower corollas. The seven borders symbolize the seven steps leading to paradise.
