Fine and original HEREKE silk carpet, (Turkey), circa 1975. In relief, brocaded with gilded metal threads. Dimensions : 107 x 78cm. Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 900,000 knots in one square metre. Decoration of an earthly paradise for this carpet or a foliage varied bestiary in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation, where a stream flows. The main border is the same as the field's eco-system, surrounded by two scrolling counter-borders. Signed upper left.
