Silk GHOUM (Iran), Shah's time, circa 1980. Dimensions: 310 x 210cm. Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 720,000 knots in one square meter.
An imposing floral medallion, cruciform, polylobed, anthracite, with an ivory heart and flowering stems, thrones over a fuchsia field, framed by two-tone ivory and brick spandrels with arabesques. The whole is covered with flowering foliage, birds and deer in the corners. Two highlighted ivory counterborders frame the main midnight blue one, all three with garlands of flowers and polychrome corollas. Fuchsia braid.
