Silk GHOUM (Iran), circa 1975/80. Dimensions: 210 x 140cm. Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 490,000 knots in one square metre. The field of this carpet with "garden decoration" consists of forty-two niches, highlighted in ivory, decorated with painted vases, set in a naturalistic decor, while others are decorated with trees of life and animals. The whole in beautiful polychromy. The main night-blue border is a succession of corollas of flowers, old gold and turquoise, and starry boxes with "cachet", it is flanked by three parma and turquoise counter-borders with garlands of flowers. Beautiful presence.
