Fine silk GHOUM (Iran), Shah's time, circa 1965/70. Dimensions: 172 x 104cm. Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundations. Density of 640,000 knots in one square metre. An anthracite field with a latticework of polychrome flowering stems, hosts a vegetalized medallion, in polylobé mandorla, old gold and its arrowed pendants. Four old gold spandrels with accolades and floral scrolls frame the ensemble. Four pastel counter-borders with flowers surround the main one, old gold with open corollae, placed on interlaced floral stems. Ribbon highlighting.
