Original TURKMENE silk prayer, circa 1975/80. Dimensions: 175 x 114cm. Technical characteristics: Silk velvet on silk foundation. Density of 480,000 knots in one square meter.
In the centre of an ivory field, covered with a seedling of large stylised flowers, small crosses and stars, thrones a fuchsia mihrab, slender, crocheted pointed ogive, highlighted in navy. The same flowers, but ivory decorates the central field. Navy border with stylized polychrome undulating garland. Rare design.
