It is impossible for him to paint this month's portrait of his correspondent, as he is currently overwhelmed with portraits ("ist mir unmöglich, Ihr Porträt noch in diesem Monat zu malen, da ich augenblicklich mit Porträtaufträgen überhäuft bin"). If he comes to Berlin for the Oppenheim sale [19 March 1918, collection of paintings by Baron Albert Oppenheim], they will make an appointment for the posing sessions ("wir verabreden den Termin für die Sitzungen"... He adds that Bavarian stamps are not valid in Prussia ("die bayrischen Briefmarken haben in Preußen keine Gültigkeit")....
