SPECTACULAR AND MONUMENTAL EASTERN STATUS "AFRICAN GUERRIER HOLDING A GUN" IN THE TASTE OF Charles CORDIER (1827-1905) Sculpture in onyx and Carrara marble. 165 x 58 cm Henri Joseph Charles Cordier, born on November 1, 1827 in Cambrai and died on April 29, 1905 in Algiers1 , was a French sculptor. Using a technique dating back to Roman antiquity, he used polychrome marbles such as onyx to dress his bronzes, representative of the orientalist style and the eclecticism of the Second Empire.
