Nasa. This enormous spiral galaxy is located in an isolated position in deep space called the "Local Void". The Local Void is an expanse of space at least 150 million light-years long that appears to be completely empty of stars or galaxies. Dark dust corridors wind their way through the arms and the bright centre of the galaxy, giving it a mottled appearance. There are bright red gas spots scattered across the swirling arms of the galaxy, mixed with bright blue regions containing forming stars.Period chromogenic print. Reference on the front.
