2018, 98 X 97cm “I paint women all naked because it's my story”. In the name of reputation and fear of judgment from others, many cases of sexual violence remain silenced in Kinshasa. Yet lives are destroyed, and dreams of young girls are shattered every day. Falonne Mambu is one of those courageous women who have decided to brave shame in order to fight sexual violence in a different way. Her work is soulful, charged with a sublime lyricism and a hopeful message for the men and women of our time.
