A miniature illuminated Megillat Kohelet [Book of Ecclesiastes Scroll], early 20th century, written in a handsome Hebrew scribal hand in tiny lettering bordered by colourfully painted polychrome birds, fruit, lions within roundels and architecture on a yellow ground, the associated unmarked case possibly Austro-Hungarian, 19th century, pierced with putti toasting each other in a vineyard, the scroll guard and top both set with a turquoise cabochon, the vellum with 19 lines to a column, height of text: 3.5 cm, height of parchment, 5.9cm, case length (inc. winder) 14.2cm.
