INCUNABLE from 1486 Paulus VENETUM [Paul of Venice] Clarissimi artium et sacre theologia Pauli Veneti heremitarum divi Augustini expositiones in libro posterios Aristo feliciter incipit. In fine: Explicit scriptum clarissimi Pauli veneti fratris ordinis heremitarum divi Aurelii Augustini in libros posteriorum Aris. Impressum venitiis per Guillermum de monteferrato tridinensem Anno Salutis MCCCCLXXXVI, die vero XI, mensis Augusti. Hain Copinger N° 12512 Petit in folio. Full contemporary ivory-coloured vellum binding. Outer seams with leather straps. Small vellum lacks (especially the upper corner of the second cover. Missing the fastening straps on the plates. Handwritten inscription in ink on the lower edge: Paul sup. post. This inscription was intended to facilitate research, as the books were laid flat on the shelves and not arranged vertically, as is done today. 113 leaves, including the first and last, white. The page is missing a [doubtless a white sheet, since the first printed line corresponds to the one indicated by Hain-Copinger, 12512]. Page a2 is missing. It would be missing this last blank page, which is included in the pagination (the booklet p with pages p, p1, p2, p3 and 2 unnumbered pages). The last page printed halfway through, after the colophon. 2 columns of 70 lines. The place of the letters is blank of any printing because each letter should have been hand painted, with ornamentation. This is not the case in this copy. Ancient marginal inscriptions, in ink, difficult to decipher because of their writing and the faded tint of the ink. This work is a commentary on the works of Aristotle de la Serna, in his work: Dictionnaire bibliographique choisi du XV° siècle, or description in alphabetical order of the most sought-after editions of the XV° century (Paris. Tilliard frères, 1805) - indicates a Guillermus de Cereto by Tridin.
